CCO and Descriptive Titles

Good Example

This title shows good description, considering it is from Artstor! The terms "catalogue," "drawing," and "Sande doll," tell the viewer that what the object being photographed is, and what it is about. There are a few layers that the title must describe when viewing a photo like this, and it shows that the catalogue (which could probably be better described as "notebook," but I'm not sure) contains a drawing done by someone in the tribe named Momo Fina Massalay depicting a Sande doll.

Bad Example

This title does not comply with CCO guidelines. "Portrait" and / or "Portrait of two performers" is not helpful to the searcher at all. The names of the people, while not necessarily needed, aren't identified. There is no location given, no photographer named, and the method of photography is not specified. A better title might be:
"Tintype* photograph, male and female performers, Ringling Bros Circus, c. 1930. "

*I'm not sure if it really is a tintype from this photo, to be honest. Also I got the circa year from other dated photos in the collection.
